Movie News: ‘Panic Attack’ creator signs deal with Sam Raimi
I posted about this neat little sci-fi flick by Fede Alvarez a few weeks back on Twitter, but its popularity took a recent skyrocket thanks to the news that Evil Dead and Spider Man director Sam Raimi has confirmed a big-budget collaboration with the Uruguay-born filmmaker.
While the story is pretty run-of-the-mill as far as alien invasions go – think Cloverfield meets Independence Day – the production and score are absolutely spot on, so with exposure and backing like this, Alvarez deserves to go far.

Meet Napalm Dragon and friends, a group of experienced fire breathers from Canada. Mr. Dragon himself has 15 years experience of fire breathing, which he demonstrates in a beautiful and awe-inspiring video, shot at speeds of 1,000 and 2,000 frames per second.

Video Spotlight: Forever’s Not So Long
What would you do with your final hours on earth? In Forever’s Not So Long, a film by Garrett Murray and Shawn Morrison (aka Gutsack & Robot), we witness a young man named George as he reflects on his life, while deciding how to meaningfully spend what little time he has before the world ends.
It’s a well-produced, 12-minute short that touches on themes of relationships, regret and what might constitute a worthwhile existence.
Video Spotlight: Clowns vs. Cops
This short film directed by Adam Berg, entitled Carousel, is an exceptional piece of hi-def cinema.
What does it mean? I don’t think it matters. The level of detail is incredible, and the whole thing almost begs for an extended cut, or at least some perspective.
